Today is final order cutoff for UNSTOPPABLE DOOM PATROL #1 which hits the stands on 3/28. Our series is six issues with the plan to do six issues each year like a season of prestige TV. That also allows artist Chris Burnham to put out the gorgeous detailed work he’s known for. BUT that only happens if people show up for the book. The best way to do that is to ask your comic shop to put the series on your pull list so they will know to order all six issues for you.
Lots of comics are selling out right now so it’s not always guaranteed a book will be waiting for you on the shelf if you don’t order it
To help sell the book DC put together a bunch of great variant covers. The B variant features Elasti-Woman (and Beast Girl!) by Nathan Szerdy. There’s also a 1:50 foil variant of that same cover too.
There’s also a 1:25 Writer drawn variant illustrated by me with color by Brian Reber. A lot of comics writers started out as artists so I hope this inspires more of them to do variant covers!
There’s also a Scratch off cover featuring Crazy Jane with FIVE potential outcomes by Burnham and Reber
And finally we have a design variant put together by DC Designer Darran Robinson featuring Burnham’s initial character designs for our book.
Burnham and I have also done press with a bunch of sites to talk about the book including COMICS BEAT, CBR, COMICBOOK.COM, AIPT, and more coming up over the weeks leading to release.
Also we sent PDFs to our fellow creators and got some great endorsements Garth Ennis, Robert Kirkman, Josh Williamson, Chip Zdarsky, Tom King, Marc Bernardin, Ed Brisson, Jeremy Adams, Mitch Gerads, Jackson Lanzing, Phillip Kennedy Johnson, and Jed MacKay!
